Mason turned one on Saturday (October 4th).  

I made him his first cake which was also the first cake I have ever made from scratch.  

He liked it!

{walking}

Mason started walking last Thursday.  He has such a proud look on his face while he's moving.  I love watching him walk like he's tipsy but it makes me very nervous with our tile floors.  He already had his first real fall but I'm sure this curious, busy and fearless little man has a lot more crashes in store.  

Mason's words of choice these days are Mama, Dada, up (he crawls to the bottom of the stairs and looks at me saying "up"), and he says "more" (without the "r" sound) when he wants more food. He also claps when he wants more food.  He is trying to use the sign language I am teaching him but he gets it confused with clapping.  

We are having so much fun!

{eleven months}

Mason is 11 months today!  He is a very active boy and keeps us on our toes.  He loves clapping (which is also his way of signing "more"), dancing, climbing everything and is close to walking.  His latest trick is standing up, clapping and then falling down.  He smiles with such pride.  He is very curious and loves discovering new things.  He never stops moving (he's even busy in his sleep)!  I don't know when babies start having good and bad dreams but I think he has started having them.  Sometimes he wakes up in the middle of the night, sits up, claps and then falls down and goes back to sleep.  Other times he wakes up crying and needing to cuddle. 

I am loving this age!

{ten months}

Mason turns 10 months this weekend. 

  He is getting so tall!  He is already 30 3/4 inches and 22 lbs. 7 oz.

  He and I had a horrible flu last weekend.  It was his first flu and it was so scary for me to see him sick.  He was such a great sport about it though.  He kept smiling in between vomiting.  

  Mason said his first word this month and to my surprise it was Mama!  It is my second favorite sound he makes.  The first is his laughter.  This week he started saying Dada.  I love the sound of his voice.

  Mason has always loved watching people play "peek-a-boo" with him but this month he figured out he could play too.  He likes to play "peek-a-boo" with himself in the mirror.  

  He loves to cuddle and sleeps best when he is in bed with us.  I am enjoying every second.  I'm sure there will come a time when he wants nothing to do with his mom!

This was a couple weeks ago.  Today he climbed all the way up our stairs.  

He hasn't mastered getting down yet.

{Nine Months}

  Mason turns 9 months today!  It is so amazing to me that Mason has been in this world the same amount of time he spent in my tummy.  

  He is changing daily but here he is as of today...

He has 8 teeth, climbs furniture, climbs stairs, can stand on his own for about 1.5 minutes before falling to his bum, follows his mom everywhere and thinks she is the funniest person in the world (smart boy), hates taking naps alone, loves animals and other kids, loves peek a boo, and his binky too!

{Crawling}

Mason started crawling forwards on Friday!  Everyday he just gets faster and faster.  It is about to get even more difficult to work from home!

Jake is 5 weeks older than Mason.  They have so much fun together.  Jake is a lot faster than Mason which is a good thing because Mason likes to bite him and pull his hair!

We took Mason swimming on Tuesday and he loved it!  

Mason was so comfortable in the pool he decided to swim out to the middle by himself!
